How we do it
At HSTA, we use digital video analysis, photo analysis, and shooter’s touch analysis computers to offer the best, most comprehensive shooting lesson available, allowing students to see faster and lasting improvement, gain more confidence, accuracy, and consistency and therefore higher percentages. V1 software enables HSTA Teaching Pros to teach shooting using the following integrated tools:
SUPERIOR SHOT TECHNOLOGY
V1 Pro Software System is unique in the basketball industry, offering a fact-based approach that eliminates the guesswork from the process. We will capture your shot and one-on-one move on video and instantly play it back for you. You will instantly see your shooting form and be able to "visualize" it after each session. Our instructors will point out what is happening with your shooting mechanics, how to correct it, and will help you build new habits.
V1 Digital video: Several cameras provide accurate measurements of the exact position of your body throughout each shot. This, synchronized with photo/video, allows us an assessment of your exact position at every critical point in the shooting motion. We measure your mechanics with bio-mechanics containing a series of motion sensors identifying key shot components such as head, finger-pads, elbows, knees, and toes.
V1 Video Analysis: Allows your instructor to see more than can normally be seen in a 1.2 to 1.6 second shot. We record your shot from various angles and play it back, enabling instant observation by both you and your instructor. We can compare your video with video of an advanced player of your own age, top high school players, and WNBA/NBA Players, as well as draw lines and shapes, zoom-in and more.
V1 Photo Analysis: With our "Instructional Development" shooting posters, your shot data is compared with HSTA's proprietary shot database, collected by measuring more than 1,500 top players and players on all levels. We set the stage by showing any part of the shot in stasis and utilize habit breaker techniques to positively and negatively reinforce behaviors such as unconscious or involuntary body movement.
V1 Web Lesson System: We post every lesson online to allow each client to relive their lesson anytime. Clients see shots from their lesson, hear actual commentary from their Teaching Pro, read notes about their shooting form, and access video drills that can be done right at home. This is the perfect reinforcement tool to maximize the learning process.
Finger-pad Control Analysis: This technology allows us to see the finger-pads at the beginning and end of the shooting form and where the ball is released. We measure the timing of the release and the rotation of the ball as it moves towards the target. Measurements such as body control, speed control, ball control, arc angle, shot path, and body angle are taken.
Game Situation Database: We have measured the shots of over 1,500 amateur and professionals to define which body positions best generate a quality shooting motion in a game situation, we then gather the information into our database. The game situation database provides an accurate benchmark to measure your position throughout your shooting development.
